This site is a small number of HTML files and one stylesheet, served as-is. There is no build step, no content management system, and nothing that runs in your browser on my behalf. Editing a page means editing a page.
Nothing, beyond the request log that any web server keeps in order to serve a page at all. There are no cookies, no third-party scripts, no embedded players and no forms. The only external request a page makes is for the monospace typeface, and if that fails the page falls back to whatever your system already has.
No comments, no newsletter, no sign-in. If you want to reach me you almost certainly already know how.
A page should behave like a printed sheet: legible at arm's length, readable on a phone, and finished. The rules between sections do the work that boxes and shadows usually get asked to do, and they do it without pretending each paragraph is an object you can pick up.
The numbered markers only appear where the order genuinely matters — a restoration sequence, a set of checks arranged cheapest-first. Everywhere else they would be decoration wearing a uniform.
There are no images yet. Where a photograph would carry information a paragraph cannot — a tooth profile, a cleat in section — one will be added. Decorative stock photography will not.
